1964  TO 1988 Link Belt / FMC / PTC

Held a number of positions with this major manufacturer of Automotive and Industrial power transmission products, ranging from Research Technician to Director of Engineering and Product Planning for the Automotive and Industrial Chain operations. In 1988 the operation was sold to Borg Warner Corporation and Rexnord.

            1988 to current - Engineering and Management Consultant

The following are some major multi-year consulting engagements, involving product design and development, intellectual property issues, patent studies etc:

1988 to 1991:      Consultant to Magna Corporation Toronto Canada

Helped this major Automotive supplier secure their first contract supplying engine timing components. The operation was sold to Borg Warner Corporation.

1989 to 1991:      Consultant to PIV Reimers a German manufacturer of continuously variable transmissions. Helped secure technical contracts with automotive manufacturers and handled all liaison activities.

1991 to 2001: Consultant to Borg Warner Corporation, Ithaca NY.

Assisted this major and only North American manufacturer of engine timing components and transmission/transfer chain products, with various major new products involving new product designs, product improvements troubleshooting etc.

2007 to current: Consultant to L.G. Balakrishnan &  Bros. Coimbatore India

Providing complete new product design services to enable this major Asian power transmission manufacturer to become a supplier of inverted tooth chain products for engine timing system applications as well as transmission/transfer chain products.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND RECOGNITIONS

·         Invented a number of products and product improvements many of which are still in use and covered by more than a dozen patents.

·         Authored technical papers and made presentations in National technical conferences.

·         Held various offices in local technical organizations and participated in National technical committees.
